A little about me

I lead a primary school and make time to teach on cover when needed. Standing in front of a class helps me understand the conditions staff are working in and the effect that a leadership decision may have on teaching.

Meeting prospective families is another part of that work. I want communication to be clear about what the school offers and how families can learn more. Safeguarding and school leadership require careful attention to what is known, what should remain private and who needs to act on a concern.

I value resources that help adults prepare, explain and decide without adding unnecessary layers. A simple planning tool can support a conversation, but it should not replace the teacher’s experience or the school’s professional responsibilities. I want leadership to stay connected to the classroom and help colleagues focus on work that matters for children.

How I approach a lesson

  1. Stay connected to classroom work through teaching and observation.

  2. Keep family-facing information accurate and useful.

  3. Use simple systems that support professional responsibility.
