A little about me

I support a Year 5 class and look for practical ways to run small-group work when the whole group shares one room. Clear task stations or short rotations can help pupils work with more focus, provided the teacher can see what each group is doing and give support when it is needed.

I also help with activities that connect older pupils with younger children. A buddy arrangement can give pupils a chance to take responsibility and help younger children feel included, as long as the roles are clear and adults remain available.

I value resources that are easy to organise in the space available. A short activity outline, group prompt or transition cue can make it easier for pupils to get started without relying on a second room. I want practical arrangements that support learning and relationships while keeping the teaching team informed.

How I approach a lesson

  1. Organise small-group work for a shared classroom.

  2. Use clear roles in cross-age activities.

  3. Keep adults available to support and review the activity.
