Early years inclusion and learning support lead
I support inclusion across early years rooms and help families and teachers describe what a child needs in plain language.
Explore the collectionI support inclusion across early years rooms and help families and teachers describe what a child needs in plain language. A useful summary should sound recognisable to the family and focus on support, not labels. I want the words to reflect what people have observed and what they agree to try.
My work moves between rooms and conversations, so plans need to be clear enough for different adults to use. A small number of practical strategies can make it easier for a teacher to know what to do next and for the family to understand what support looks like during the day.
I look for resources that help organise a review or plan without deciding on behalf of the child and family. The team can record what they will try, who will follow up and when they will talk again. I value communication that is respectful, specific and connected to the routines where support actually takes place.
