A little about me

I teach Year 3 and think carefully about how Religious Education can include pupils with different relationships to parish preparation. Some children take part in sacramental work outside school and others do not. The classroom lesson still needs to be meaningful and welcoming for everyone.

Coordination can help the school sequence related topics without making classroom participation depend on taking part elsewhere. I want pupils to have a clear way to engage with the lesson, ask questions and learn alongside classmates whose experiences may differ from their own.

I also serve as a staff governor, so I sometimes help translate classroom concerns into information that can support a decision. I value clear summaries that identify the issue, explain its effect on learning and give colleagues something practical to consider. In both teaching and governance, I want people to understand the context before choosing a response.

How I approach a lesson

  1. Plan classroom learning that includes varied participation in parish preparation.

  2. Coordinate topics without making outside participation a condition.

  3. Present classroom concerns clearly for professional discussion.
