A little about me

I lead Learning Support across the school. I want an individual plan to be brief enough for teachers to use and specific enough to guide what happens in class. Naming a small number of strategies makes it easier for the team to remember what to do and to notice whether it is helping.

A plan should not be written once and forgotten. Regular review gives families and teachers a chance to discuss what is working, what needs adjustment and whether a new support should be tried. The adults who teach the pupil need to be able to find the plan and understand their part in it.

I value resources that help a team agree clear actions without making unsupported assumptions. A template can organise a discussion, but it cannot decide what a pupil needs. I want the plan to reflect shared knowledge, set a manageable next step and stay honest about the support a setting can provide.

How I approach a lesson

  1. Keep plans concise and practical for classroom use.

  2. Name a small set of strategies that teachers can apply.

  3. Review support with families and the teaching team.
