Early years inclusion lead

Achara Wisetsombat

I work with families and classroom teams on practical inclusion plans that say what adults will try, what they will notice and when they will review the response.

A little about me

I support inclusion and child development by working within the classroom alongside the teaching team. I do not diagnose children. My role is to help adults think through practical support in context and to make plans with families, rather than remove a child from the group or turn a single observation into a judgement.

A useful plan is clear enough to act on and small enough to review. I value writing that records what adults will try, what they will notice and when they will talk again. The family’s knowledge belongs in that conversation, and the class team needs to be able to use the plan in ordinary routines without losing sight of the child’s participation.

I look for resources that support collaboration and make the next step visible. A form or prompt can help organise a discussion, but it cannot determine a child’s needs or replace professional assessment. I want tools to help families and teachers communicate with care, keep goals practical and revise support when the evidence or circumstances change.

How I approach a lesson

  1. Work alongside the class team in the everyday setting.

  2. Write practical plans collaboratively with families.

  3. Keep support distinct from diagnosis and review it over time.
